Harold Hughes
Partner, Chief Executive Officer

Harold Hughes is a Partner and the Chief Executive Officer of TritonPoint Partners. He has global experience across most areas of the financial services industry both horizontally and vertically.

Most recently, he was an SVP for PNC Institutional Asset Management working with pension and corporate clients’ complex bond portfolios and E&F OCIO clients. He created The Bank’s pension process engagement analytics and presentation, as well as worked with the team to create Enterprise Financial Management for Higher Education.

Harold’s vast experience in the financial services industry spans decades. Harold ran the Washington DC office of Bernstein, growing assets/advisors from $2.1B/9 to $7.2B/24 over a four-year period. He also opened the Charlotte Market, working closely with a team of new advisors. He moved to London in early 2008 to take over the London office, growing the EU, Russia, and UK Markets. He was called back to The States at the end of 2009 as Head to the Americas to execute the successful turnaround of the AB funds and institutional in North and South America. In 2013 he retired from AB to pursue fintech investing, boards, and non-profit board service.

Prior to AB, he spent 10 years at Legg Mason creating and running a broad set of The Firm’s advice offerings. In 1998 he helped create the first robo-advisor and sold it to nine firms by 2000 – a combined advice and venture capital experience. Earlier in his career, Harold worked as an advisor, wholesaler, and national sales manager. He also worked at Bridgewater for Ray Dalio in the pre-hedge fund days.

A graduate of St. Johns College in Annapolis, Harold holds a BA with a double major and double minor: History of Mathematics and Science, Metaphysics, Ethics, and Political Theory, with minors in Classical Studies and Comparative Literature. Married to Colleen for 39 years, he resides in Annapolis, Maryland and has two children and two grandchildren.
